Ukraine’s Zaporizhstal restarts No.2 blast furnace
Ukraine’s Zaporizhstal Iron and Steel Works, a joint venture of the Metinvest group, indicated that it had restarted its No.2 blast furnace (BF). It was the first time to put it into operation during the Russia and Ukraine war and was expected to reach the planned production capacity in the first decade of April.
After restarting the No.2 BF, there are currently three Zaporizhstal blast furnaces being operated, and the productivity of pig iron would reach more than 8,000 tons per day.
