Turkish seamless pipe imports remain flat in Q1
According to the statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported around 61,000 tons of seamless steel pipes in the first quarter this year, remaining unchanged compared to the same period a year ago. Among them, the imports from China were around 30,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 5%, accounting for 49% of the total Turkish seamless steel pipes imports, due to the increased demand in Turkey and strong price competitiveness from Chinese suppliers. Besides, in the same period, the imports of Turkish seamless steel pipes from Russia were around 9,200 tons; those from Ukraine were around 4,600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 47%; those from Germany were around 4,600 tons, a year-on-year increase of 65%; those from Romania were around 3,600 tons.
