TISCO develops low-carbon emission stainless steel used for highway guardrails
Taiyuan Iron and Steel Corporation (TISCO) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanxi Transportation Research Institute Group Co., Ltd. and committed to supplying 30,000 tons of low-carbon emission stainless steel, which will be used in crash barriers on the highway in Shanxi province.
Compared to traditional crash barriers made of carbon steel, this kind of green stainless steel will increase by about 50% yield strength and tensile strength. Besides, it avoids polluting water and air as zinc and passivation, has a long service time twice, reduces steel consumption by about 20%, and decreases the cost of the whole life cycle by 50% to 60%.
