Taiwan plans to set Carbon Trade Exchange in mid-2023 & complete carbon legislation by end-2023
The data from Taiwan’s Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) showed that Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC) and Dragon Steel ranked third and fifth, respectively, among Taiwan's top 10 carbon emission enterprises. To catch up with the global trend, Taiwan planned to set up Carbon Trade Exchange in the middle of this year.

Taiwan’s EPA said that over 500 enterprises in Taiwan would be charged carbon tax in the future. EPA planned to complete new legislation about collecting fees for carbon emissions by the end of this year. Big-scale enterprises would be the first priority to be charged. If the enterprises could provide a plan for reducing carbon emissions and reach the target, they could have preferential rates.
