Stainless steel output observed improved after first quarter
According to data from International Stainless Steel Forum, the global stainless steel output was down slightly in the first quarter year-on-year in most regions in the world by 2.8%.

The biggest decline was in Americas, down by 22% to 607,000 tons and Europe was the smallest by 0.3% to 2.21 million tons.

ISSF also said that it is expected that the market will be improved by real demand and some restocking activities in the second half of the year. 

Compared to the Q4 2011, the world output in Q1 2012 was higher by 2.7%, especially the growth in Europe and Africa regions. For the full year forecast, stainless output will rise slightly from 32.1 million tons in 2011.
