South Korea releases plan for 2023-2042 carbon neutrality and green growth
According to South Korea’s first basic plan between 2023 and 2042 to achieve carbon neutrality and green growth, the government is striving to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 40% to 436.6 million tons by 2030 from the peak of 727.6 million tons recorded in 2018.

Besides, the government planned to invest 89.9 trillion won through 2027 in the carbon reduction strategy, of which 54.6 trillion won will be used to develop carbon reduction technology, subsidize electric and hydrogen vehicles, and reconstruct buildings.
