Russian steel consumption may grow by 4% this year

According to the forecast of steelmaking group Russkaya Stal, Russia’s steel consumption of steel products in 2012 will reach about 42.2 million tons for growth rate by 4%.

Russia’ steel consumption in 2011 was better than earlier weak global economy which was about 40.5 million tons.

This year Russia’s steel demand is observed to go up by the improvement in construction sectors and growth in auto making and machine manufacturing industries.

Data shows that construction sector is seen to grow about 2% in January-March quarter. Also, the car sales rose by 15% year on year in the first five months of 2012.
