Philippine nickel ore output slides by 11% in first three quarters
According to the statement from Philippine Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Philippine nickel ore output decreased by 11% in the first three quarters of this year compared with the same period of last year due to the policy about production suspension and bad weather. Among the thirty nickel mines in the Philippines, only seventeen mines were under the production from January to September of this year. There were at least eight mines have suspended the production since last year because of the environmental problems. Philippine nickel ore output totaled 19.01 million tons in the first nine months of this year, down from 21.34 million tons in the same period of the previous year.
