Outokumpu to supply towards-zero stainless steel to Alfa Laval for green transition
Outokumpu, a leading stainless steel manufacturer in Europe based in Finland, has signed an agreement with Alfa Laval, a Sweden-based leading global provider of first-rate products in the areas of heat transfer, separation, and fluid handling, for the supply of Outokumpu Circle Green®, which is the first towards-zero stainless steel in the world, with up to 93% lower carbon footprint than the industry average.
Alfa Laval will use Outokumpu Circle Green® to produce its heat exchangers, which contain up to 80% stainless steel. These heat exchangers are used in the energy transition towards a more sustainable energy supply, including energy efficiency, waste heat recovery, and heat pumps. Outokumpu Circle Green® will help Alfa Laval manufacture its main products with a lower carbon footprint.
