Japan's steel imports, exports fall in first 6 months
According to the data from the Japanese Ministry of Finance, Japan exported 19.089 million tons of steel products during this January to June, down by 7.1% year on year. The annual export volume of steel product was expected to be 38.178 million tons, which was less than 40 million tons for the first time in six years. From January to June, Japan exported 15.05 million tons of steel products to Asia, down by 5.6% compared with the same period of last year. In the meantime, Japan imported 3.425 million tons of steel products from Asia, rising by 8.6% from the same period a year ago.
