Indonesian government signs revised contract with 13 coal mining companies
It is reported that the Indonesian government has revised its contracts with 13 coal mining companies, including the country's largest coal enterprises, with the aim of introducing a new mining permit system to increase government revenues.
The reform was designed to simplify industry management procedures, but the problems were even more complex and difficult than expected and some companies even faced legal difficulties.
The country's largest coal enterprises, including PT Bumi resources TBK units PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), PT Arutmin Indonesia, PT Berau Coal Energy TBK and PT Kideco Jaya Agung.
