Indian crude steel output increases in Q2
According to statistics, in the second quarter, India’s crude steel output totaled about 33.63 million tons, which increased by 8.4% year on year. The increase in steel demand drove the growth in output. The Indian steel demand totaled 30.3 million tons during the second quarter, growing by 10.2% year on year.
In the same period, the Indian production of finished steel went up by 11.7% from the same period of last year to 32.4 million tons.
In June alone, the output of finished steel and crude steel went up by 12% year on year to 10.5 million tons and increased by 13.7% year on year to 11.3 million tons, respectively.
