Hitachi to use only green aluminum for domestic products
Hitachi planned to only use “green aluminum”, produced in a way that emits less carbon dioxide, in its domestically manufactured products.

To realize this commitment, Hitachi has set March 2024 as a deadline. The company will cooperate with the world's major resource enterprises to purchase aluminum ingots smelted by hydroelectric power and will entrust domestic factories to process them into plates.

Hitachi consumes a large amount of aluminum to produce home appliances, railroad cars, etc. Therefore, it has pledged to reduce its carbon footprint by using low-carbon aluminum for the goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions across the entire supply chain by 2050.
