Chilean lithium industry receives investment from other countries
The Chilean Production Development Corporation (CORFO) said on February 9th that it has approved the applications from enterprises in China, South Korea and Chile, which would invest in the lithium industry in Chile in the future. The joint ventures of Chilean Molymet, Chinese Sichuan Fulin Industrial Group Co., Ltd., South Korean Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. and Posco were all investors and would develop the lithium industry in Chile in the future. The CORFO said that the annual production of cathode from the above-mentioned foreign companies was expected to reach 58,000 tons in the next two years. The cathode was the main raw material for lithium batteries.
