ArcelorMittal might delay its delivery due to fire accident
In a letter to customers, ArcelorMittal indicated it could take several weeks to make its flat carbon Europe division resume standard production after its blast furnaces in Gijon, Spain and Dunkirk, France suffered a fire accident.

As part of the original plan, ArcelorMittal was going to use Dunkirk material to offset the shortage of slabs from Gijon, but that may have to be altered.

Besides ArcelorMittal, several other European mills are also experiencing difficulties. Tata Steel recently declared force majeure on the cold-rolled coil and hot-dip galvanized production, so it had to use other producers' toll-rolling on its behalf to meet customers' requirements.
