Alro inaugurates Eco-Recycling facility in Slatina
Alro, one of the main aluminum companies in Romania, has inaugurated the US$11 million investment in new technologies and treatments at its Eco-Recycling facility in Slatina.
With the installation of two double-chamber furnaces, one holding furnace, and a related flue gas collection and treatment plant, the Eco-Recycling facility’s capacity was expected to increase by 60,000 tons by the end of this year.
Alro said that the state-of-the-art technology will have a positive impact on the environment, allowing the company’s emissions below EU-approved quotas.
Besides, the electricity consumption during the aluminum scrap recycling process is 95% lower than the consumption for electrolytic aluminum production, which will lower production costs.
